Guide to our Potty Training Pants

Our potty training pants are used in conjunction with potty training. The pants are put on just like underwear or briefs. They are made with extra absorbent layers of cotton that help soak up the pee and create a wet feeling for the child. The sensation of having a wet pants then teaches the child to associate the feeling of needing to pee with the wet pants.

The training pants are not waterproof even though they consist of a moisture-resistant layer. The leg openings are made of cotton knit, which means they will leak if the pants become "full," and that's the intention. When the child accidentally pees in the pants, the pants are taken off, and the child is placed on the potty or toilet. This helps connect the feeling of needing to pee with the need to sit on the potty, and eventually, the child will be able to tell when they need to go to the toilet in time.

It's important to create a relaxed atmosphere around potty training without pressure or coercion. Some children can be very skeptical of the toilet or potty and may need a little extra coaxing. Make potty training a cozy activity and take it at the pace that the child is ready for. Feel free to ask the child regularly if they need to pee and maybe sit on the potty for a while even if they don't feel like they need to pee at the moment. Sometimes a little pee may come even if the child doesn't feel like they need to pee.

What size should you choose?

The sizes are divided by the weight of the child. The most important thing is that the potty training pants fit comfortably on the child. Our training pants are available in sizes from 9 kg up to 20 kg.

Can you use potty training pants instead of diapers?

Both yes and no. The training pants are great to use instead of diapers during the day when the child is potty training, but since the pants will leak if larger amounts of pee come into them, they do not replace diapers if it is the function of the diaper you are after. The elastic around the legs of the training pants is made of cotton, unlike the elastic on our diapers, which are designed to keep tight and avoid leaks. For this reason, it is not recommended to use the training pants at night or when the child is sleeping during the day. In other words, the training pants are not diapers.

How do you wash your potty training pants?

The potty training pants are washed at 60 degrees.

How many potty training pants do you need?

It depends on how many accidents the child has and how far you have come in potty training. Also, how often you wash plays a role, but 3-5 pairs of training pants are usually suitable for most children. At the beginning, accidents tend to occur more frequently, so the pants need to be changed and washed more often. After a while of potty training, the accidents become fewer and fewer, and the number of pant changes and laundry loads decreases.

When can the child start using potty training pants?

It's very individual and depends on when you start potty training the child, but our sizes start from 9 kg and up. Some start very early, maybe from day one, while others choose to wait for a year or more. So the answer to that question is that it's okay to start using potty training pants when it suits your needs.
